Measurement

Opinion has no place in a dimension.

Every claim we make about a part is backed by a calibrated instrument and a recorded reading. Measurement isn't a department at the end of our floor — it's written into the routing at every stage, from goods-in to dispatch.

The instruments

The instruments that keep us honest

Complex geometries and positional tolerances are verified on the CMM with printed dimensional reports. The everyday discipline of in-process control runs on micrometers, bore gauges, height gauges, thread and plug gauges — every one of them under a controlled calibration schedule.

Where the drawing calls for more than a dimension — surface finish, flatness, form — we measure that too, and record it.

Equipment

The inspection room

Coordinate Measuring Machine

CMM verification of complex geometries, positional tolerances and first articles — with printed dimensional reports.

Gauges & Hand Metrology

Micrometers, bore gauges, height gauges, thread and plug gauges — the everyday instruments of in-process control.

Surface & Form Checks

Surface finish measurement and form verification where the drawing calls for more than a dimension.

All measuring instruments run under a controlled calibration schedule — traceable, current, recorded.

The gate system

Four gates every job passes

Incoming

Raw material verified against certificates; heat numbers logged for traceability before anything enters stores.

First article

The first part off every setup is measured fully. Production doesn't continue until it passes.

In-process

Defined checkpoints in the routing, recorded by the operator, audited by quality engineers.

Final & dispatch

Final inspection against the drawing, documentation compiled — inspection reports, material certs, FAIR where required.

Every gate leaves a record. If you ask us in five years which billet your part came from, we can answer. The system runs under our ISO 9001:2015 certification — see the quality statement.

Proof over promises

Ask for the inspection report before you ask for the brochure.

We'd rather be judged by our measurement data than our marketing.
